Need an Official Record?
Use the following Washington County and Illinois offices for official records:
- Court case files: contact the Washington County Circuit Clerk at 125 E. Elm Street, Nashville, (618) 327-4800 ext. 305, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Personal Illinois history: use Illinois State Police Access and Review.
- Sheriff reports and bookings: contact Washington County Sheriff at 245 N. Kaskaskia Street, Nashville, (618) 327-8274; jail extension 114.
- Sheriff FOIA: email foiarequests@washingtonco.illinois.gov; ordinary records and invoices use sdrecords@washingtonco.illinois.gov.
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expungement and sealing: obtain the state forms and file eligible Washington County matters with the Circuit Clerk.
The court and sheriff counters are separate. Call the relevant office before travel to confirm the current hours, fee, identification rule, and document availability.
